I still listen to some of my favorite game soundtracks, as much as 20 years later:
- Interstate ’76, that funk!
- Quake 2, hard driving instrumental rock by Sonic Mayhem, who also did Quake 3 and other games
- Shadow of the Colossus, haunting and lonely, just like the game
- Homeworld, also haunting and lonely, in a very different way. Beautiful symphonic score. Agnus Dei may be overused, but they made it fit perfectly here.
- Beyond Good & Evil for its worldly mix of genres: reggae, electronic, symphonic, even French rap!
Also shout outs to Zelda and Halo for some of my favorite themes ever.
