@snarfed.org Yeah, so I found. The rejection of sending the content in federation with “But what if there’s a malicious server?” strikes me as somewhat silly… like, yes, some servers will lie. But they can lie about the URL too! And if a server is going to lie, there’s a lot of options you have as a server admin!You can defederate! You could add an option to distrust-all-external-content-previews! You could add an option to trust only per-instance!
