interesting that you jump to the data/UI separation, beyond the more obvious server/UI separation. i wonder if this is a first step toward mainstreaming [the unhosted guys’ dream](https://snarfed.org/2011-12-31_unhosted_decoupling_web_apps_from_storage_providers). it’s still a big jump toward bring-your-own-storage-as-a-service, ie decoupling data *from server*, but for simple workloads that don’t need sophisticated storage capabilities (query planner, transactions, etc), it’s definitely an exciting idea.
