Xfinity WiFi Hotspots is a great product. I can walk into pretty much any coffee shop or bar or park, open my laptop, and I’m immediately online. No begging baristas for a password, no sketchy FREE PUBLIC INTRNET 4 REALZ access points, no fiddly tethering to my phone. So nice.

Are these mostly residential users who have part of their bandwidth being borrowed to share WiFi?
Both residential and commercial. I’m probably mostly using the latter. Traffic doesn’t count toward the customer’s quotas, and evidently it’s QoSed below the customer’s own traffic. reddit.com/r/HomeNetworki…
