Most of the time, I don’t feel like a technical wizard, or a product visionary, or an inspiring leader, or an empathetic community builder, or anything like that.
Most of the time, I feel like a plumber. Just hooking up pipes, plugging leaks, keeping raw sewage away from drinking water.
I’m ok with that.
@snarfed.org What you describe sounds a lot like what maintainers do. The world would be lost without maintainers. I wish VC people gave enough f@cks to throw money at such stuff.
@snarfed.org
I liked thinking of myself this way but now i need a job so i have to document and market my skills, bleh
@snarfed.org Same.
@snarfed.org You must work in IT. :)
@snarfed.org Not sure if you are referring to bridgy-fed but if you are, a status update would be interesting considering the huge boost in sign-ups on the Blusky side and to know how the bridge is handling the traffic.
@snarfed.org I appreciate your honesty and humility, but you’re doing an excellent job! Thank you for bridging protocols for us! 🤘
@snarfed.org @suihkulokki My business card says “Freelance Debian Consultant” but every time anyone asks me what I do, I describe myself as exactly that: a plumber.
