I’ve been a daily coffee drinker for decades, and I’m taking a break for a month right now. No real reason, just trying it.
Halfway through, not much to report. One mild headache early on. No noticeable difference in energy. (I’m pretty insensitive to caffeine.)
I definitely still miss it though!
i tend not to have coffee on days off and then i wonder why i have a massive headache
I did this for a while off and on. I found that it made my sleep better when I was off coffee among other positive effects. But I also found being on coffee just as positive.
I tried substitutes while off. There are no substitutes.
The best is when you start drinking coffee again. A brown wedding I suppose?
If you go back

@snarfed.org I’ve done this too. I now start my mornings with 2 hours of work before coffee. Love the taste and ritual. But the caffeine doesn’t seem to matter much to me.
And I’m done! Back on the sauce, feels good man
I’ve quit coffee a few times, I always have an emotionally rough day sometime around day 4, after I’m over the headaches
I also tried this a while back, but came back to it for similar reasons. I just love coffee! The only rule I (try to) follow is: No coffee after noon.
@snarfed.org I had to quit caffeine cold turkey years ago. From. 6-8 double espressos a day to nada. No cola, no tea, no chocolate. It was a rough month. The abstinence syndrome is real.
